Born and raised in Brick, NJ, Jim is the only New Jersey native to win the NJSIAA State Championship 1986 (Brick Township High School), NCAA National Championship 1988 (Lake Superior State University), and the Stanley Cup Championship 1995 (New Jersey Devils). Jim had the game winning goal vs Delbarton in the 1986 NJSIAA State Championship Game a 2-1 win, assisted on the game winning goal in OT vs St. Lawrence in the NCAA National Championship a 4-3 win, and scored the game winning goal in Game Two of the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals vs Detroit with 1 minute 26 seconds left to play in a 4-2 win. Named NJSIAA Hockey Player of the Century. Broke the National Scholastic Scoring Record finishing with a four-year tally of 375 Points at Brick Township High School with 189 goals and 186 assists in 92 games played.
